The Brit Israel Initiative is a community-centered initiative dedicated to uplifting, connecting, and empowering Jews of Color within the global Jewish family. Rooted in the enduring covenant of Israel, Brit Israel affirms that Jewish identity is not defined by appearance, geography, or ancestry alone, but by covenant, commitment, and belonging.

Brit Israel exists to strengthen visibility, voice, and opportunity for Jews of Color by creating spaces for education, leadership development, cultural affirmation, and community support. Our work is grounded in the belief that every Jew deserves to be seen, respected, and fully included in every aspect of Jewish life. While preserving Jewish tradition, we also address the lived experiences and unique challenges faced by Jews of Color through Torah-based education, mentorship, leadership training, and community programs that equip individuals and families to grow in confidence, connection, and contribution.

We believe that strong identity builds strong communities. By fostering pride in heritage, strengthening spiritual foundations, and promoting economic and social empowerment, Brit Israel works to ensure that Jews of Color are not only present in Jewish spaces, but thriving, leading, and shaping the future of Jewish life. Our initiative also serves as a bridge between communities, encouraging unity, mutual respect, and shared responsibility across the diversity of the Jewish people.

Brit Israel is not affiliated with or limited to any single movement, fellowship, or ideology. Participation is open to Jews from all sects and traditions within Judaism, including Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist, and independent communities, as well as Sephardi, Mizrahi, and Ashkenazi traditions. We affirm the shared covenant that binds the Jewish people together across differences in practice, culture, and expression, and we honor the diversity of Jewish life with dignity and understanding.

Brit Israel is more than a program. It is a commitment to belonging, leadership, and legacy, and to building a future where every Jew knows they are seen, valued, and essential to the story of Israel. All who share this commitment are welcome to walk with us as we strengthen covenant, community, and collective destiny.
